The AYA CARE Network
Changing Survivorship for Adolescents & Young Adults (AYAs) with Cancer
Real AYA Needs Researched in Rochester
THe AYA CARE (Centralized, Accessible, Relevant, Empowering) Network was created based on research in collaboration with AnnaLynn Williams, PhD (University of Rochester Medical Center).
About the Network
13thirty Cancer Connect, Rochester’s only nonprofit organization dedicated to adolescents and young adults (AYAs) with cancer (ages 13-39), is launching the AYA CARE Network, and we’d like you to be part of it!
The AYA CARE Network is an innovative online directory of multi-sector providers in the Greater Rochester Area educated on the challenges facing AYAs with cancer. We’re excited to bring this new tool to the Rochester community.
One training. Better Care.
Even if you do not currently support AYAs with cancer, you may in the future. Attend our FREE pre-enrollment training to gain new insights, become a provider of choice, and help ensure no young person faces cancer without informed, compassionate, age-appropriate support!
Why is this important?
- AYAs will be empowered to be more proactive about their healthcare.
- Provider capacity in our community will increase.
- Healthcare costs and inequities will be reduced.

About the Training
To be included in the AYA CARE Network, attend the 2-hour pre-enrollment training led by Dr. AnnaLynn Williams, Wilmot Cancer Institute, and Lauren Spiker, 13thirty Cancer Connect. You’ll learn about the unique challenges facing AYAs with cancer and Dr. Williams’ research upon which the AYA CARE Network was developed. A panel of AYA survivors will also share their experiences. You will then have a chance to brainstorm with others how you can integrate this new knowledge into your current practice.
A Message from a 13thirty Member
“As a young adult with cancer, I had no idea of all the support I would need as a survivor. Knowing there is a source of resources for all aspects of my life – mental, physical, emotional – makes addressing those concerns much less nerve wracking.”
